Paul Millsap signs with Nuggets for three years, $90 million

Forward/center Paul Millsap, formerly of the Atlanta Hawks, and the Denver Nuggets have agreed to a three-year, $90 million deal, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical.

What It Means:

Millsap was also considering the Phoenix Suns and Minnesota Timberwolves, but he opted to join Nikola Jokic in Denver to give the Nuggets one of the more imposing frontcourts in all of the NBA. Jokic's presence and passing ability should open things up for Millsap and allow him to flourish in what will be the 12th season of his career. The Hawks, meanwhile, are now left with Miles Plumlee and rookie John Collins as the only true big men on the roster.

Millsap's 3.5 nERD was tied with Andre Drummond for 63rd in the NBA last season among 486 qualifying players. He averaged 18.1 points, 7.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.3 steals over 34.0 minutes per game for the Hawks.
