Kevin Durant to wait on new deal
Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant will not sign a new contract until later in July, per ESPN's Marc Stein.
Durant has already said that he'll pass on his $27.7 million option and go into free agency with the intent to re-sign with the Warriors. But he is going to wait until the team completes most of its offseason business before re-signing. His intent is to allow Golden State enough space to re-sign veteran free agents Andre Iguodala and Shaun Livingston.
Durant's 17.6 nERD positioned him fourth among all players. He finished in a tie for 9th in this season's MVP voting.
