Suns extend qualifying offer to Alan Williams

The Phoenix Suns have extended a qualifying offer to forward/center Alan Williams.

What It Means:

Williams will now be a restricted free agent on July 1st, as will his teammate Alex Len, who also got his QO from Phoenix. The Suns can match any offer the big men get in free agency, but the team likely won't keep both guys depending on their plans for Tyson Chandler. Williams' performed very well after the break last year with averages of 11.0 points and 8.9 rebounds and he looked better than Len during most of that time. The Suns will likely attempt to match any offer Williams gets on the open market.

Williams averaged 7.4 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks over just 15.1 minutes per game last season. He owned a .517 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of 1.3 ranked him 96th among all players in 2016-17.
