The New York Knicks have "legitimate" interest in re-signing point guard Derrick Rose this offseason, according to ESPN's Ian Begley.
Rose will become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st. Although the Knicks don't want to spend up on a free agent, Rose has said that he'd prioritize winning over money this summer. Even with first round pick Frank Ntilikina on board, Rose makes a lot more sense if the Knicks are trying to win now.
In 64 games, Rose averaged 18 points per game on 47.1% shooting in 2016-17. But his -2.9 nERD ranked just next-to-last on the team and 190th among all NBA guards.
