Timberwolves keeping Ricky Rubio on trade block

The Minnesota Timberwolves "remain intent" on trading point guard Ricky Rubio, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

What It Means:

According to Stein, the Timberwolves desire for more shooters is one of the reasons Rubio could be dealt. This contradicts comments from Timberwolves general manager Scott Layden, who said earlier this week that the team was "planning" on keeping Rubio.

Rubio averaged 11.1 points and 9.1 assists per game last season while turning in a .402 field goal percentage and .539 true shooting percentage -- all of which were career highs. His 0.9 nERD was second on the Timberwolves for the year and tied for 110th in the NBA.
