76ers officially acquire number one overall pick from Celtics
In a trade with the Boston Celtics, the Philadelphia 76ers have officially acquired the number one overall pick in Thursday's NBA Draft.
The 76ers send the number three overall pick, as well as a future first rounder, to the Celtics. The future first will take the form of the Lakers 2018 first-round pick if it falls within picks two and five. If it falls outside those picks, the Celtics will get the better of the Kings' and Sixers' 2019 first-round selections. With the move, Philadelphia is now set to take Washington guard Markelle Fultz with the first overall selection.
For a Philly team that ranked 25th in three-point shooting (34%) in 2016-17, Fultz and his shooting abilities (41.3% from three) will be a welcome sight for Sixers fans everywhere.
