Hornets finalizing contract extension with Michael Kidd-Gilchrist
The Charlotte Hornets and small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist are finalizing a four-year, $52 million deal.
What It Means:
Kidd-Gilchrist is current slotted as the starting small forward next to offseason acquisition Nicholas Batum. Kidd-Gilchrist is an elite defender, and he has improved his offensive game since entering the league.
Kidd-Gilchrist posted a solid 1.0 nERD while averaging 10.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 1.4 assists last season. He ranked third on the Hornets with 1.6 Offensive Win Shares and sixth on the team with a 15.1 Player Efficiency Rating.
