Warriors' Kevin Durant scores 39 points, named NBA Finals MVP
Golden State Warriors forward Kevin Durant was named the Finals MVP after he won his first NBA title with a 129-120 Game 5 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday.
Durant was simply outstanding over the entire five games of the Finals and Game 5 was no exception. He dropped 39 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists on a jaw-dropping 82.5 effective field goal percentage for the game. He averaged 35.2 points per game over the Finals and for the playoffs he totaled 30 points or more in nine of his 15 postseason games.
Over his 15 postseason games, Durant averaged 28.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 1.3 blocks over 35.5 minutes per game. He had an incredible 62.7 effective field goal percentage in the playoffs.
