Dion Waiters will decline player option with Miami
Miami Heat guard Dion Waiters intends to decline his player option, according to Chris Haynes of ESPN.com.
After a great season in Miami, Waiters will demand a much higher salary in 2017-18. However, he has expressed interest in re-signing with the Heat, who will have plenty of cap space assuming they waive Chris Bosh.
Waiters averaged career highs with 15.8 points, 3.3 rebounds and 4.3 assists over 30.1 minutes per game this past season. He had a .488 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of -2.6 ranked him 402nd among all players.
