Spurs' Dewayne Dedmon will decline 2017-2018 option
San Antonio Spurs center Dewayne Dedmon will decline his player option for the 2017-2018 season, which will make him an unrestricted free agent.
What It Means:
The option was only going to be worth $3 million, and he's likely to command significantly more than that as a free agent, so it was likely a pretty easy decision for the 27-year-old 7-footer.
Dedmon averaged career-highs in both points (5.1) and rebounds (6.5) while playing 17.5 minutes per game this season. He ranked fifth among Spurs players and 43rd in the NBA with a 5.1 nERD in the regular season.
