Clippers expected to re-sign Blake Griffin (toe)
The Los Angeles Clippers are "widely regarded as strong favorites" to retain forward/center Blake Griffin (toe), according to ESPN's Marc Stein.
Point guard Chris Paul is being courted by other teams, and his status might also affect Griffin's decision to stay with the Clippers. Griffin's durability has fallen off with only 35 games played in 2015-16 and 61 games in 2016-17 before a plantar plate injury ended his playoff run.
Griffin generated 7.6 nERD, the 26th-most among NBA players this season. He played 34.0 minutes per game when healthy this year, with per-game averages of 21.6 points, 8.1 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 0.6 treys (a career-high).
