Isaiah Thomas wants to stay with Celtics
Boston Celtics point guard Isaiah Thomas reiterated his desire to stay in Boston, speaking with reporters on Friday.
"Boston's changed my career, changed my life. I would love to win championships here," said Thomas. General manager Danny Ainge and the Celtics have some tough decisions to make over the next year. Thomas has just one season left on his contract before becoming a free agent in the summer of 2018. Boston also has the first overall pick in this year's draft and is expected to take point guard Markelle Fultz, so the Celtics could consider trading him.
Thomas turned in the sixth-most nERD among NBA players this year, with 16.3. The six-year veteran had career-highs in Effective Field Goal rate (.546) and points per game (28.9) while playing 33.8 minutes per game.
