Bulls' Denzel Valentine (ankle) undergoes arthroscopic surgery

Chicago Bulls forward Denzel Valentine underwent arthroscopic surgery on his ankle this week, per the Chicago Tribune's K.C. Johnson.

What It Means:

The surgery was on the ankle that Valentine sprained twice this season, though it was a relatively minor procedure, and he's only expected to be sidelined for 3-4 weeks, meaning he should be back in time to play Summer League ball.

Valentine didn't see a ton of playing time as a rookie, averaging 5.1 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 17.1 minutes per game over 57 contests. His -3.1 nERD ranked only 423rd in the NBA.
