Rockets eliminated as James Harden struggles against the Spurs
Houston Rockets guard James Harden had a rough game on Thursday, scoring 10 points on 2-of-11 shooting and adding 3 rebounds, 7 assists, 1 steal, 1 block and 6 turnovers in 37 minutes of action as the Rockets were blown out 114-75 by the San Antonio Spurs.
This blowout came as a huge shock. The series had started as a close one, with Game 5 having gone to overtime after a 2-2 start, and the Spurs were playing without their best player in Kawhi Leonard (ankle) in Game 6. Harden averaged 24.5 points, 9.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 2.2 steals per game in the series.
It was a poor end to what was an outstanding season for Harden. He finished the regular season averaging 29.1 points, 8.1 rebounds and a league-leading 11.2 assists per game -- all career-highs. His 17.8 nERD tied for second in the NBA.
