Kyle Lowry not committing to Toronto, will test free agency this summer

Toronto Raptors point guard Kyle Lowry confirmed on Monday that he will opt out of the final year of his contract.

What It Means:

Lowry will become an unrestricted free agent this summer. While other teams can only offer deals up to four years, he would be in line for a five-year, nearly $200 million offer if he stays with the Raptors. However, that offer might not be put on the table for the 31-year-old point guard as Toronto contemplates what direction they want to go with their franchise.

Lowry completely fell off in the postseason, but prior to, he averaged 22.4 points, 7.0 assists, 4.8 rebounds, 1.5 steals and 3.2 3-pointers per contest in 60 games during the regular season. His 11.3 nERD was 16th in the NBA and sixth-best among point guards (James Harden, Isaiah Thomas, Stephen Curry, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul).
