Tony Parker (quad) officially ruled out for Spurs' playoff run

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker will miss the rest of the postseason with a ruptured left quadriceps tendon, the team announced Thursday.

What It Means:

A timetable won't be known until a "later date." It's a huge loss for the Spurs, as a rejuvenated Parker is currently second on the team with a 26.0 percent usage rate this postseason. Patty Mills will take over at the point while Manu Ginobili, Dejounte Murray and Kawhi Leonard are all going to be tasked with more of the offensive load for San Antonio.

Through eight postseason contests, Parker was averaging 15.9 points, 2.5 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.4 3-pointers per game while shooting a lights-out .526 percent from the field.
