Nuggets' top priority is retaining Danilo Gallinari
The Denver Nuggets' top priority is to bring back small forward Danilo Gallinari for next season, general manager Tim Connelly said.
"You never know how the market is going to progress," Connelly said. He also mentioned that the Nuggets need to add more perimeter defense. Gallinari cleared the 60-game mark for just the second time since joining the Nuggets in 2011-12, so it makes sense for him to decline his $16.1 million player option and hit the market at age 28. Plus, forward Juan Hernangomez probably deserves more minutes.
Gallo's 6.1 nERD this year was actually tied for 29th-best in the NBA.
