Celtics starting Gerald Green over Amir Johnson in Game 3
Boston Celtics guard/forward Gerald Green is starting for forward Amir Johnson versus the Chicago Bulls in Game 3 on Friday.
What It Means:
Coach Brad Stevens hinted at a lineup change, but not many thought it would be Green getting the nod. The lineup of Isaiah Thomas, Avery Bradley, Jae Crowder, Al Horford, and Green have played only 16 minutes together this season but own a plus 1.8 net rating. While the move won't solve the rebounding woes for Boston, by going small, they hope to outrun the Rajon Rondo-less Bulls in game 3.
Green averaged just 5.6 points, 1.8 rebounds, and 0.8 three-pointers in 11.4 minutes per game this season.
