Hornets holding out Kemba Walker (left knee) for final two games

Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker (left knee soreness) will remain on the sidelines for the final two games of the 2016-17 season.

What It Means:

The Hornets have been eliminated from playoff contention, so it doesn't make sense for Walker to play hurt and risk a much more serious injury. Briante Weber and Brian Roberts are going to take over the point for Charlotte while Nicolas Batum, Jeremy Lamb and Frank Kaminsky will all make up for Walker's absence on offense.

Walker finishes the year with career-highs in points (23.2), threes (3.0) and shooting percentage (44.3), while also averaging 5.5 assists, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 steals per game. His 5.6 nERD leads all Hornets players and ranks 36th in the NBA.
