Suns believe Devin Booker could excel running the point

Phoenix Suns head coach Earl Watson is confident that Devin Booker could thrive as the team's point guard.

What It Means:

Over his last four games, Booker is not only pouring in 36.8 points a night, but he is also averaging 7.2 assists. "When Devin Booker took off at the end of last season, he was at the point," Watson said. "He had a lot of 30-point games. This year he’s had a 70-point game. It’s not a coincidence... I don’t know if I’ve said this publicly before, but he reminds me a lot of James Harden."

Booker has posted per-game averages of 22.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 0.3 blocks this season while recording a 42.4 percent field goal rate. His usage rate has gone up to 28.5 percent during his sophomore campaign, compared to 23.0 percent last year.
