Magic's Elfrid Payton triple-doubles in loss to Nets

Orlando Magic point guard Elfrid Payton recorded his fifth triple-double of the season in Saturday's 121-111 loss to the Brooklyn Nets, finishing with 20 points, 11 rebounds and 11 assists.

What It Means:

He now has five more career triple-doubles than any other player in franchise history. Payton finished 6-of-12 from the field and 7-of-8 from the line with one three-pointer and a steal in 35 minutes, and this is coming on the heels of a near triple-double on Friday. The Magic may bring in some competition for Payton with so many talented point guards in this year's draft, but he's playing well for his job.

Payton turned in 17.12 nERD on Saturday night, per numberFire Live. That was the best total on the team.
