Miami's Hassan Whiteside (ankle) plans to play Sunday
Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside (ankle) expects to play on Sunday night against the Boston Celtics after suffering a minor ankle injury in Thursday's loss to the Toronto Raptors.
This is good news for the Heat, who are currently fighting for the eight seed in the Eastern Conference. Whiteside is already playing a hand laceration that required 13 stitches on Tuesday, but it's going to take a lot to keep him out of a game at this point in the season.
Whiteside is averaging 17.5 points, 14.3 rebounds and 2.4 blocks this month (12 games). For the season, his 7.6 nERD is tied for 21st in the NBA.
