Miami's Hassan Whiteside (hand) uncertain for Thursday
Miami Heat center Hassan Whiteside received 13 stitches in his right hand on Tuesday night, putting his status up in the air for Thursday's home game against the Toronto Raptors.
Head coach Erik Spoelstra didn't give much indication of Whiteside's status, saying that we'll know more on Wednesday, and adding "Hopefully he's going to be okay." If Whiteside can't go on Thursday, look for Willie Reed to move into the starting lineup, while James Johnson should also see his role expand.
Whiteside is averaging career-highs in both points (16.8) and rebounds (a league-high 14.2) while adding 2.1 blocks in 32.8 minutes per game. He leads Heat players and ranks 21st in the NBA with a 7.4 nERD on the season.
