James Harden triple-doubles in Rockets' high-scoring loss

Houston Rockets guard/forward James Harden had no help in a 128-112 loss against the New Orleans Pelicans on Friday, scoring 41 points with 14 rebounds, 11 assists, two steals, and four 3-pointers in 40 minutes.

What It Means:

Nobody else in the starting lineup scored more than eight points for the Rockets in this blowout loss. Harden played the entire third quarter and may have played the entire fourth, but the Rockets were just too far behind and head coach Mike D'Antoni pulled the plug. This makes sense for the Rockets because they'll have to play in Denver on Saturday. Harden set the franchise record for most assists in a season, and he did it with almost a month to spare. He also has the most 40-point triple-doubles in a single season with six.

Harden's 42.50 nERD last night was the best on the Rockets, and it was supported by his one-man show with a ridiculous 33.6 percent Usage Rate.
