Kyrie Irving scores 34 points as Cavaliers' one-man show

Cleveland Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving scored 34 points during a 117-99 loss to the Chicago Bulls on Saturday, adding nine rebounds, seven assists, one block and two 3-pointers in 35 minutes.

What It Means:

He made 13-of-25 from the field with two turnovers as a one-man band at home. Before tonight, Irving had a massive 45.5 usage rate when LeBron James (illness) and Kevin Love (knee) are out of the lineup, so his 43.8 usage rate in this loss is hardly a surprise. If LeBron's strep throat keeps him out on Monday, Irving will be another easy DFS target. The Cavs have back-to-back road games on Friday and Saturday in the upcoming week.

Irving has an overall 30.3 percent Usage Rate, which is seventh-best among the 41 guards averaging at least 30 minutes per game, and his .525 Effective Field Goal Rate is 16th-best among the same. Irving has added 5.1 nERD to the Cavs this year -- tied for the 26th-most.
