Omri Casspi suffers a broken thumb in debut with Pelicans

New Orleans Pelicans forward Omri Casspi suffered a broken thumb in Thursday night's loss to the Houston Rockets, per Justin Verrier of ESPN.

What It Means:

This was Casspi's first game since being traded to New Orleans from the Sacramento Kings, and he played 24 minutes before suffering the injury, which is likely to keep him out for most of the remainder of the regular season. Look for Solomon Hill and Hollis Thompson to pick up some additional minutes with Casspi out.

Casspi has averaged 6.1 points, 4.0 rebounds and 1.1 assists in 18.3 minutes per game this season. He ranks 310th out of 463 players with a -1.0 nERD.
