76ers send Nerlens Noel to Dallas in exchange for Justin Anderson, Andrew Bogut and a first-round pick

The Philadelphia 76ers are trading center Nerlens Noel to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for Justin Anderson, Andrew Bogut and a first-round pick, per Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

What It Means:

The first-round draft pick from Dallas is protected from picks 1-18, so it isn't likely to end up being a selection in this year's draft. Noel should step into a big role as the starting center in Dallas, while his absence combined with Ersan Ilyasova having been traded should open up some playing time for Richaun Holmes in the Philadelphia front-court.

Noel has averaged 8.9 points, 5.0 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 1.4 steals in 19.4 minutes per game this season. He ranks 69th in the NBA with a 2.3 nERD.
