Lakers trade Lou Williams to Rockets for Corey Brewer and a first

The Los Angeles Lakers are finalizing a trade that will send shooting guard Lou Williams to the Houston Rockets in exchange for guard/forward Corey Brewer and a first-round pick, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical.

What It Means:

There wasn't much doubt that Williams would be dealt, it was just a question of to which team. It's a solid trade for both sides, as the Lakers get a first-round pick to bolster their rebuilding efforts and the Rockets add another scorer. Despite having to share a backcourt with James Harden, Williams' fantasy outlook shouldn't be too altered in Houston. Eric Gordon and Patrick Beverley could take a hit however.

Williams was averaging a career-high 18.6 points to go with 2.3 rebounds, 3.2 assists, 1.1 steals and 2.1 3-pointers in 24.2 minutes per game this season for the Lakers. His 5.0 nERD for the year currently ranks 25th in the NBA.
