Joel Embiid (knee) expecting to return for 76ers right after break

Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid (knee) said he thinks he can "probably" play in the first game after the All-Star break.

What It Means:

Embiid suffered a minor tear to his meniscus towards the end of January, forcing him to sit out since January 29. If he can avoid swelling and soreness, the talented young big man should be able to return against the Washington Wizards on February 24. That said, always keep in mind the 76ers' conservative tendencies when it comes to injuries and recovery times.

Embiid has been terrific through his first 31 NBA games, averaging 20.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 0.9 steals, 2.5 blocks and 1.2 3-pointers per contest. He is also tied for 100th in the NBA and ranks second among Sixers players with a 0.8 nERD on the year.
