76ers plan on Ben Simmons playing this season
Philadelphia 76ers rookie number-one overall pick Ben Simmons (foot) is expected to play at some point this season, head coach Brett Brown said on Wednesday.
"We do expect him to play this year," Brown said. "It is our expectation that he will get on a court. It’s moving slowly. It’s calculated. We’re trying to be very careful." This comes after multiple reports suggested that Simmons may not play at all this season due to the 76ers falling out of the playoff race. Simmons needs to get through five full practices before the team will clear him for games. He's not really a recommended hold at this point.
Our models give the 76ers less than a 1.0 percent chance of making the playoffs, and they are currently the third-worst team in the league this season, according to numberFire's NBA Team Power Rankings.
