Orlando will play more small ball with Serge Ibaka gone
The Orlando Magic will be playing more small-ball lineups with forward/center Serge Ibaka gone, according to head coach Frank Vogel.
With Vogel's strange insistence on playing Aaron Gordon almost exclusively at small forward to start the season, hopefully his version of "small-ball" involves playing Gordon -- a true power forward -- at his appropriate position.
Playing out of position this year, Gordon's .503 true shooting percentage, 9.1 percent total rebound rate and 12.5 player efficiency rating are all significant steps back from the numbers he posted in his 2015-2016 sophomore season. Gordon ranks only 428th in the NBA with a -3.2 nERD on the year.
