Karl-Anthony Towns scores 36 points in Wolves' loss to Pelicans
Minnesota Timberwolves center Karl-Anthony Towns scored 36 points during a 122-106 loss to the Pelicans on Friday, adding eight rebounds, one assist and one 3-pointer in 38 minutes.
Towns has seen his usage rate rise with Zach LaVine on the shelf for the rest of the season. He has four games with at least 33 points in his last nine overall and he hasn't scored fewer than 23 points in that stretch. He and Andrew Wiggins will continue to see heavy usage over the rest of the season.
Towns is averaging 23.7 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 1.5 blocks over 36.4 minutes per game. He owns a .548 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of 7.0 ranks 18th-best in the NBA. e
