C.J. Watson starting at point guard for Orlando on Thursday
Orlando Magic point guard C.J. Watson will start at point guard and Elfrid Payton will move to the bench against the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.
What It Means:
Watson had started five games previously, but they all came at shooting guard with Evan Fournier out of action. Payton, Fournier and Watson will likely be a three-headed monster in the backcourt, hurting D.J. Augustin's chance for minutes. Expect Watson to log 30-plus minutes on Thursday.
Watson is averaging 12.8 points, 2.8 assists, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 steals in the six games he's eclipsed 30 minutes of playing time. His -1.3 nERD on the year is eighth on the Magic.
