Yogi Ferrell

Yogi Ferrell knocks down nine three-pointers Friday, will sign two-year deal with Mavericks

Dallas Mavericks guard Yogi Ferrell went off in a 108-104 win over the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, scoring a career-high 32 points with nine three-pointers, five assists, two rebounds and two turnovers in 39 minutes.

What It Means:

Ferrell has played his way right into a long-term contract with the Mavs after signing a 10-day contract at the end of January. He tied a franchise record for three-pointers in a game by a rookie on Friday and with Deron Williams still working his way back from injury, Ferrell should be in line for a lot more playing time with Dallas.

Over just 14 games, Ferrell is averaging 8.9 points, 2.6 assists and 1.7 assists over 21.5 minutes per game with the Nets and Mavs this season. He is averaging 17.8 points in four games with the Mavericks and his effective field goal percentage is .510 so far this year.
