Nets to prioritize younger players more rest of season
Brooklyn Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson hinted on Monday that he'll start to consider giving more run to the younger guys on the roster as we approach the second half of the season.
"As you see we’re trying to bring them along. I don't want to throw too much at them," Atkinson said of the Nets younger guys. "But we will look at things, and if we think it’s going to help the team, we’re not totally against it." Based on these comments, rookie first-round pick Caris LeVert will be seeing a lot more run after the break, and he could eventually replace Randy Foye in the starting lineup.
LeVert is averaging 13.6 points, 4.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.9 3-pointers per 36 minutes this season. His -0.3 nERD is currently tied for sixth on the Nets.
