Spurs' Pau Gasol will have surgery on left hand
San Antonio Spurs forward/center Pau Gasol (left hand) is undergoing surgery to repair the fracture of his fourth metacarpal.
Gasol suffered the injury during warmups on Thursday and is expected to miss 4-6 weeks. The Spurs will likely be even more cautious with his usage upon return, so owners may have to cut ties if they need to keep pace or make up ground in the standings. David Lee, Dewayne Dedmon and Davis Bertans should all see more minutes with Gasol out.
Lee has had a very solid season so far, and he ranks 43rd in the NBA and fourth among Spurs players with a 3.1 nERD. While filling in for Gasol on Thursday, he finished with 10 points and 16 rebounds in 33 minutes versus the Denver Nuggets.
