Nuggets expected to trade Jusuf Nurkic by deadline
Denver Nuggets center Jusuf Nurkic is "sure" to be traded prior to the February trade deadline, according to Marc Stein of ESPN.
Per Stein, the Nuggets have acknowledged Nurkic's struggles to co-exist with Nikola Jokic in the frontcourt, but they want to give him an opportunity to be a starting center elsewhere. It would be a big boon for Nurkic's fantasy value, as well as an opportunity for Kenneth Faried to see more minutes.
Nurkic is averaging 7.8 points, 4.3 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 15.2 minutes through eight January contests. His minutes played per game has gone down every month of the season. His -1.8 nERD ranks 13th on the Nuggets and 389th in the NBA.
