Kristaps Porzingis (Achilles) hoping to return for Knicks on Saturday
New York Knicks forward/center Kristaps Porzingis (Achilles) said he's "90 percent ready" and he is hopeful to play on Saturday versus the Phoenix Suns.
This would suggest that Porzingis will miss Thursday's contest against the Washington Wizards. He's scheduled to undergo an MRI which should help indicate his status for Saturday. Mindaugas Kuzminskas scored 17 points in 29.0 minutes on Wednesday, and he's provided nice value with Porzingis unavailable.
Kuzminskas is averaging 14.8 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.0 steals and 1.5 3-pointers in 29.9 minutes over his past four contests. His 0.2 nERD is fifth on the Knicks and 137th in the NBA.
