Gorgui Dieng scores season-high 21 points in Minnesota's loss
Minnesota Timberwolves forward/center Gorgui Dieng scored a season-high 21 points during Sunday's 98-87 loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
Dieng was 10-for-12 from the field with eight rebounds and one steal in 31 minutes on Sunday. He got the benefit of playing against the defensive-deficient Dirk Nowitzki as he scored at least 20 points for only the third time this season. He was coming off a disappointing 1-for-10, four-point night on Friday.
Dieng's offense has been hit or miss all year but has been a defensive stud all year with 7.6 rebounds, 1.2 blocks and 1.0 steals per game.
