Spurs lose despite a career-high 38 points from Kawhi Leonard
San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard exploded for a career-high 38 points during a 108-105 loss to the Phoenix Suns in Mexico City on Saturday, adding four rebounds, three assists, one steal and two 3-pointers.
The Spurs are now 6-4 in games where Leonard scores at least 30 points, but the Suns played tough and didn't let anyone else from the Spurs beat them. Leonard is making his case for MVP votes this season in a wide open race and more games like this are going to help his cause.
Leonard is averaging 24.6 points, 5.7 rebounds, 3.1 assists and 1.9 steals over 33.1 minutes per game this season. He has a .544 effective field goal percentage and his nERD of 10.6 currently ranks second in the league.
