James Johnson stays hot for Miami on Friday

Miami Heat forward James Johnson stayed hot on Friday against the Los Angeles Lakers with 20 points, five rebounds, one assist, two steals, one block and four 3-pointers in 34 minutes.

With the injury to Justise Winslow, Johnson is going to have to step up over the rest of the season. He can play all three frontcourt positions for the Heat, making him a valuable commodity. He has also been red hot with Hassan Whiteside out, averaging 19.0 points, 5.3 rebounds, 4.0 assists, 1.8 blocks, 1.3 steals and 3.5 triples over his last four games.

Johnson is having a career year, averaging 11.7 points, 5.0 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.0 blocks over 24.8 minutes per game this season. His .575 effective field goal percentage is easily a career-high and his nERD of 0.6 ranks 110th in the league.
