Dallas Mavericks guard/forward Wesley Matthews stayed hot on Wednesday, making 8-of-19 FGs and 5-of-6 FTs, with five 3-pointers, to finish with a team-high 26 points, two rebounds, two steals, one assist and one block.
Matthews is starting to get his groove back as he's scored at least 20 points in four of his last eight games. Coincidently he is shooting 48.3% from deep during that stretch, so after over a year of questioning whether Matthews would regain his form pre-Achilles rupture, he may be starting to answer that question.
Matthews is averaging 14.4 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists over 36.1 minutes per game this season. He owns a .471 effective field goal percentage (eFG%), but over his last eight games his eFG% has been .580.
