Ricky Rubio (elbow) scratched from Timberwolves' two-game road trip
Minnesota Timberwolves point guard Ricky Rubio (elbow) has been ruled out for the team's upcoming two-game road trip.
Rubio will miss contests against the Brooklyn Nets and Orlando Magic. The Timberwolves are then off until Saturday, where they open a back-to-back set against the Los Angeles Lakers and Los Angeles Clippers. There hasn't been any suggestion that Rubio will be back for those, so Kris Dunn is in line for another week of starter's work. Tyus Jones will continue to see more minutes as well. Rubio remains a hold due to the upside he offers, even with the uncertain timetable.
Rubio got off to a slow start this season, averaging 4.5 points and 6.5 assists on just a .333 effective field goal percentage in two games. He currently owns a -0.1 nERD.
