Boston Celtics point guard Marcus Smart received an MRI on his sprained left ankle that came back clean.
Smart's return to the court will be dependent on how his ankle responds to treatment. Preseason standout Terry Rozier is in line for a much larger role to open the season if Smart can't play.
Smart is projected to average 11.4 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 28.9 minutes a night this season, according to numberFire's projections.
