Rockets' Patrick Beverley may need surgery on knee
Houston Rockets guard Patrick Beverley may need surgery on his left knee according to ESPN.
Beverley has missed the last four exhibition contests due to "knee irritation," and head coach Mike D'Antoni indicated last week that his point guard wouldn't be ready for the season opener. A final decision will be made after further evaluations are completed this week, but this eliminates Beverley from the standard-league conversation for the time being. Eric Gordon will likely start next to James Harden in Houston's backcourt.
Our models currently expect Beverley to average 10.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, 3.8 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.8 3-pointers on 43.2 percent shooting from the field this season. This is based on a 66-game projection for the year.
