Hornets clear Cody Zeller for contact
Charlotte Hornets forward/center Cody Zeller (right knee bone bruise) has been cleared for contact.
What It Means:
Zeller originally hurt his knee in last season's playoffs, but he suffered a setback working out this summer with Team USA's Select Team. Just last week head coach Steve Clifford said that Zeller has "a long way to go," but this is surely a step in the right direction. Al Jefferson is gone, but the team signed Roy Hibbert this summer, so it looks like Zeller could split minutes at center with Hibbert once he is fully healthy.
Zeller posted a solid 5.8 nERD in the 2015-'16 season, which ranked 29th, and averaged 8.7 points, 6.2 rebounds and 1.0 assists per game.
