Josh Richardson not counting himself out for Miami's season opener

Miami Heat guard/forward Josh Richardson (knee) said on Monday that playing in the season opener is "a possibility" for him.

What It Means:

Opening night fits with the 6-8 week timeline that Richardson was tagged with after partially tearing his MCL on September 9. The second-year guard will be a primary replacement at the two now that Dwyane Wade is in Chicago playing for the Bulls, but Richardson is no better than an end-of-the-draft flier for fantasy purposes.

Richardson posted a 0.7 nERD, which ranked 73rd, in 52 games last season as a rookie. He averaged 6.6 points, 2.1 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game, while recording a .569 true shooting percentage.
