76ers' Ben Simmons (foot) could return in 10-12 weeks
Philadelphia 76ers first-overall pick Ben Simmons (Jones fracture) could be back on the court in as little as 10-12 weeks, according to orthopedic surgeon Daniel Cuttica.
Cuttica doesn't have any ties to Simmons or the 76ers, but offered a professional opinion on the injury. Philly is likely in no rush to get Simmons back on the court early, as they don't project to be in playoff contention this year, so they could take a more cautious approach to his return. This opens up plenty of playing time for Dario Saric, Robert Covington and the rest of the 76ers' rotation.
We project Philadelphia for a 29-53 record this season, giving them only a 0.6 percent shot at making the playoffs.
