Harrison Barnes struggles from field, goes 1-of-10 for Mavericks
Dallas Mavericks forward Harrison Barnes made 1-of-10 from the field for three points with two rebounds, two assists, one steal and one 3-pointer in 17 minutes against the Charlotte Hornets on Monday.
"He's going to make those shots. The important thing is that he sticks with the process," said head coach Rick Carlisle, who didn't express discouragement in his new max player. Barnes is going to have an exorbitant amount of opportunity in Dallas this season and even got some run at the four on Monday night.
Barnes is averaging a 16.3 percent usage rate for his career, peaking at 17.7 his rookie season. Even when Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson weren't on the court last year, Barnes only recorded a 20.0 percent usage rate, so this will be a big leap for him in Dallas. He ranked 58th in the league with a nERD of 2.2 this past season, averaging 11.7 points, 4.9 rebounds and 1.8 assists in 30.9 minutes per game.
