Trail Blazers to utilize Damian Lillard off-ball this season
Portland Trail Blazers point guard Damian Lillard said he's expecting more off-ball scoring this season.
Lillard's off-ball game was put on display Monday night during a 16-point effort, and it's clear that Portland is going to make a concerted effort to free their point guard up for quality looks. It sounds like the Trail Blazers are going to feature Lillard similarly to how Stephen Curry is utilized in the Golden State Warriors offense.
Still just 25, Lillard had an outstanding year last season. He put up 25.1 points, 3.4 rebounds, 6.8 assists, 0.9 steals and 3.1 three-pointers per night. His 7.1 nERD ranked 22nd, and he's shaping up to be a worthy pick late in the first.
